Elder Scrolls timeline

DAWN ERA
- It begins with the existence of the deities Anu (Satak, the Everything, the First Serpent) and Padomay (chaos and change). Some say Padomay came out of Anu, some say they are twins.

- Nir was created by the interplay/fight of Light and Darkness (for the love of Nir, at that time just a concept) of the deities
-- But Nir loved only Anu. Padomay became resented
-- Padomay beat Nir for loving only Anu
-- Nir gave birth to creation (Twelve Gods of Creation) presumably after becoming pregnant with Anu, but died of the injuries afterward
-- Anu created Nirn of the remainder of the Twelve Worlds (how, if Nirn is the center of Mundus and Mundus can't exist before the Original Spirits)

- Padomay, who Anu thought dead, stabbed Anu, and they battled
-- Both deities birthed their souls during/after the battle, Anu birthed Anui-El and Padomay birthed Sithis
--- The conflict between their souls gave birth to Aurbis
-- Et'Ada, the Original Spirits, were created when Anu and Padomay's blood spilled and mixed. Initially, they had no identity
-- Padomay was eventually expelled from Time by Anu, that also pulled himself out of time

- (Theories also say Anu was only a force and all the deities were created by Sithis, so none of the things above happened)

- Aurbis, the universe, begins to exist in the overlapping of Anu and Padomay souls. It includes Mundos, Oblivion, the Void and Aetherius, all different planes.
-- The Void composes the extremities of Aurbis, is the realm of nothingness and the first created. It's the domain of Sithis and the place from which the Daedra spawn.
-- Aetherius, the Immortal Plane, is the source of magic and all creation in Mundus, and, later, becomes the realm of the Aedra (Aldmeri name to "our ancestors").
-- Oblivion, the Plane of Oblivion, is created by the Daedric Princes (who did not wish to take part in the creation of Mundus, that happens later!)
-- Mundus/Nirn, the Mortal Plane, is the center of Aurbis, and formed by twelve worlds sometimed interpreted as gods. But Mundus doesn't exist yet!!!

- Anui-El reflected on the turbulent state of Aurbis. As a result, to stabilize it, he birthed his soul Auri-El/Akatosh,  the future chief god of the Nine Divines and dragon god of Time. With he's birth, Time started to exist, being his contribution to the Mortal Plane.
-- with time, the Original Spirits began to have an identity and also an alignment (Anuic/Padomaic)
-- (when was he created exactly? he is a aedra that wasn't birthed like the other aedra-previously-spirits, but to contribute with time to mundus, the other spirits have to be aedra already since the power they abdicated was used to create it)

- Lorkhan/Shezarr/Shor/Sep (the Second Serpent and god of all mortals), convinced/tricked the et'Ada to create Mundus (giving his life/spark for convincing/fertilize Nirn)
-- Some say Lorkhan was one of the et'Ada, thus shares their origin
-- Others say Lorkhan was created by Sithis (so, it's not an Original Spirit) in the Void, to destroy the Universe, after the Aedra enslaved everything Sithis created
--- (how would this be possible, given that Lorkhan had to exist to convince the Original Spirits to create Mundus? It would make sense, however, to say that Sithis REPURPOSED Lorkhan to trick the original spirits, who were NOT Aedra before that OR were considered Aedra if we consider the theory that Sithis created everything and they were creations of Sithis that wanted to became eternal as Anu)

- The Orginal Spirits were divided in prol of their decision:
-- To humans, the Et'Ada are seen as Gods and Demons, while to Aldmer, they are Aedra and Daedra
-- Gods/Aedra are the ones that created Mundus by sacrificing their power, while Daedra refused to take part in that. The Aldmeri believed the Aedra (elven word for "our ancestors") were tricked and Lorkhan is bad, while the humans believe they did so willingly and Lorkhan is seen as a hero.
-- The Daedric Princes/Lords are believed to be purely Padomaic, which would explain why they are more powerful than the other Daedra. Some, however, say that all Daedra are nor Anuic at all. There are also Daedric Princes that appear to be partially Anuic and contributed to Mundus.

- As Mundus was forming, Magnus, the Aedra chief of the project and God of Magic, began to have doubts and held a Convention at Direnni/Adamantine Tower
-- it became evident that forming Mundus would require the Aedra to sacrifice much of his power and decided to terminate the project, thus Mundus was in its completion point
-- Magnus fled Mundus birth-pains to Aetherius, tore a hole through Oblivion which became Nirn's sun, now known as Magnus itself.
--- Magic is somewhat explained as what remains of Magnus in Nirn
-- Some Aedra followed Magnus to Aetherius, becoming known as Magna Ge, leaving smaller holes in the sky that became the stars
-- Some Aedra decided to stay and forfeit their divine existence to give life to the planet, becoming known as Ehlnofey (Earthbones or Laws fo Nature)
-- The Ehlfoney can be divided into two groups:
--- Old Ehlnofey decided to carry out revenge against Lorkhan, something decided in the Convention, and are the ancestors of the Mer/Aldmer race
--- Wanderer Ehlnofey became Lorkhan's followers, and are the ancestor of the Man race
-- Important members:
--- Old Ehlnofey: Auri-El, Trinimac, Phynaster and Syrabane
--- Wanderer Ehlnofey: Kyne, Tsun, Stuhn, Jhunal
-- Elhlnofey lands:
--- The first kingdoms of Old Ehlnofey are set by Auri-El (their leader) on Aldmeris, thus the race they originate is called Aldmer
--- The Wanderer Ehlnofey establish kingdoms on Atmora (where Atmorans originate), Akavir (Tsaesci) and Yokuda (Yokudans) and Tamriel (Nedes)

- Auri-El battled Lorkhan, and the Old Ehlnofey battled against the Wanderer Ehlnofey
-- Atmora is conquered by the armies of Man
-- The war causes the mega-continent on Nirn to become flooded and fracture into smaller continents and islands (the previous kingdoms of the Ehlnofey existed previously to that! And the Nedes decide to remain in Tamriel despite the fractures)
-- It wasn't possible to really destroy Lorkhan because his bones were the bones of Nirn, so only the spark/heart was torn, by Trinimac, putting an end to the war
-- The heart is cast by Auri-El to the sea of Tamriel to never be found, and the Red Mountain formed on top of it. His bow was also thrown to the sea
-- As such, Lorkhan is the only Original Spirit/Aedra that truly died, and Cyrodill also granted him the name "The Missing God"

MERETHIC ERA (2500 years)
- First Era that always has the concept of Time

- Actually started by the creation of the Direnni/Adamantine/Ur tower, the oldest building in Nirn by the Aedra (? despite the previous Era only ending after the Convention held here). Located in the Isle of Balfiera in High Rock, Tamriel

- Aboriginal beastpeople (ancestors of the Khajit, Argonian and other beastfolk) live in preliterate communities in Tamriel

- The Aldmer (First Folk), starting in the Summerset Isles, explore Tamriel and establish an Empire
-- They left because the Aldmeri continent was lost
-- Their sophisticated culture drive the primitive beastfolk into the jungles, marshes and wastelands
-- They capture the Adamantine Tower, that becomes also known as Direnni because that's the name of the Aldmeri clan who rediscovered it
-- The Aldmer Torval the Pilot charts Tamriel sea-lanes, the River Niben, central Cyrodill, and acquires the Eight Islands of Cyrodill (one of which is Ayleids) from the beastfolk natives in exchange for teaching them literacy
-- Aldmer explores map the coasts of Vvandenfell
-- Aldmeri build towers: the Crystal Tower in Summerset Isles,; the White-Gold Tower in Ayleids (Cyrodill); and the first-era High Elven Wizard Towers along Vvanderfell, in Ald Redaynia, Bal Fell, Tel Aruhn and Tel Mora (Morrowind)
-- The race itself "vanishes", but has many descendants resulting from the exodus:
--- Altmer or High Elves, the purest descendants and followers of the laws of Summerset Isles
--- Ayleids or Hearthland High Elves (later assimilate into the Bosmer)
--- Bosmer/Wood Elves (a divergence that occurs later)
--- Chimmer, ancient Dunmer/Dark Elves (a divergence that occurs later)
--- Snow Elves, ancient Falmers (a divergence that occurs later), possibly the second purest race
--- Dwemmer, or Dwarves (that disappear later)
--- Orsimer, or Orcs (a divergence that occurs later)

- The Snow Elves occupy most of the North of Tamriel
-- Their culture rivals the one of the Altmer. They also follow closely the original laws of the Summerset Isles, and are numerous.
-- Later in this Era, they have conflicts with the Atmorans that lead to their decline

- The Ayleids flourish in the jungles surrounding White-Gold Tower (present day Cyrodiil).
-- They preserved the Dawn Era magic and language of the Ehlnofey.
-- During the late-Merethic Era, the Ayleids would begin worshipping the Daedra.
-- Because of this worship, they enslaved the Nedes coming down from Skyrim
--- The slaves were used them for labor centered around the White-Gold Tower
--- The slaves were also for the Daedric-inspired arts of flesh-sculpture and gut-gardening
-- Ostensibly a tribute-land to the High King of Alinor, Cyrodiil was often so isolated from the Summerset Isles as to be its own sovereign nation.
-- At the height of Ayleid society, the city of Varsa Baalim was built, housing Mehrunes' Razor, the Dagger of the Final Wounds of the Daedric Prince Mehrunnes Dagon

- The Bosmer settle in the shores of Valenwood
-- The reason for settling there is not certain:
--- Some say that the Bosmer (or Aldmer/Altmer) of the time wanted to be free of the main-stream way of life on Alinor/Summerset Isles and instead wanted to live a life of simplicity in the forest. Because of this, left their home of their own accord.
--- Others describe the Aldmer/Altmer landing on the shores of the province in ancient times and leaving some of their own people behind so that they would have ties to the Tamrielic mainland when in a time of need. This would explain the supposed Pact of Old that they made which gave the later-formed Thalmor the right to annex Valenwood at the beginning of the Aldmeri Dominion's revival
-- They will form the Camoran Dynasty at the end of the Era

- The Dwemer establish underground cities and communities in the mountain range (later the Velothi Mountains), separating modern Skyrim and Resdayn (later known as Morrowind)
-- They are a free-thinking, reclusive Elven clan devoted to the secrets of science, engineering, and alchemy
-- They live mostly in underground fortresses

- The Chimer (Changed Folk or Changed Ones, ancestors of the modern Dunmer/Dark Elves), dynamic, ambitious, long-lived Elven clans who abandon the customs of the Summerset Isles
-- They devoted to fundamentalist ancestor worship, convinced by Boethiah, the Daedric Prince of deceit, to follow the prophet Veloth
-- They followed the Prophet Veloth out of ancestral Elven homelands, and the exodus became known as Velothi.
-- They settle in the lands of Resdayn (later known as Morrowind), finding that the Dwemmer already settled there.
-- The Late Middle Merethic Era is also the period of the High Velothi Culture, based on the worship of the three Good Daedra and respect for the Bad Daedra
--- Good Daedra: Boethiah, Azura and Mephala
--- Bad Daedra/House of Troubles: Molag Bal, Mehrunes Dagon, Sheogarath and, later, Malacath
-- Despising the secular culture and profane practices of the Dwemer, the Chimer also coveted the lands and resources of the Dwemer, and for centuries provoked them with minor raids and territorial disputes.

- Trinimac (strongest of the Aldmeri ancestor spirits/Old Ehlnofey) and his people try to halt Velothi dissident movement.
-- However, Daedric Prince Boethiah, as one of the masterminds of the movement, eats Trinimac.
-- Trinimac's body and spirit are corrupted, and he emerges (from Oblivion?) as the Daedric Prince Malacath (and a member of the House of Troubles).
-- The rest of his people are changed as well, and became the Orsimer or the Pariah Folk.

- Velothi high culture disappears on Vvardenfell Island.
-- The earliest Dwemer Freehold colonies date from this period.
-- The original First Era High Elven wizard towers along the coasts of Tamriel are also abandoned about this time.
-- Degenerate Velothi devolves into tribal cultures, which, in time (in the First Era), evolves into the modern Great Houses of Morrowind, or persists as the barbarian Ashlander tribes.
--- The only surviving traces of this tribal culture are scattered Velothi towers and Ashlander nomads on Vvardenfell Island.

- The Dragon Cult is brought to Tamriel by the Dragon Priests, some of the first men to arrive on Tamriel from Atmora
-- They worshiped many animals as avatars of the gods, dragons among them
--- Alduin, the World-Eater and ruler of dragons, believed by not-nords to be the same entity as Akatosh (God of Time), was a prominent figure in the cult
-- Dragons granted the cultists terrible power in exchange for complete obedience
-- The Dragon Priests demanded tribute from the populace and created laws to keep peace between men and the Dragons
-- The ruins of modern-day Labyrinthian (in Skyrim) were originally built as a temple to the Dragons. This grew into Bromjunaar, a great city of that Era.
-- The Dragon War, where men rebelled against the cruelty of Alduin and his Dragon Cult, occurred
--- A large number of the cultists were killed and the survivors were overthrown.
--- The survivors adapted and went into hiding. They built the Dragon mounds, entombing the remains of the dragons that died during the war with the belief that Alduin would one day return and resurrect the faithful.

- The Atmoran (also known as Altmora or Elder Wood in Aldmeris), proto-Nords and Men derived from the Wanderer Ehlnofey, in the final migration from Atmora, settle in northern Tamriel.
-- The Nordic hero Ysgramor, leader of a great colonizing fleet to Tamriel, develops a runic transcription of Nordic speech based on Elvish principles, and is the first human historian.
-- Ysgramor's fleet lands at Hsaarik Head at the extreme northern tip of Skyrim's Broken Cape. There they build the legendary city of Saarthal.
-- The Snow Elves of the area realize that 1) Men would probably dominate the area if left unchecked due to their quick reproduction, and 2) heard about the discovery by Men of the Eye of Magnus, a magical artifact, in Saarthal, and wanted it for them.
-- The Snow Elves drive the Men away during the Night of Tears, one night when an invading force of them descended upon Saarthal and slaughtered the inhabitants, sacking and burning the city. Theories say that the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon incited the elves.
-- Ysgramor and his sons Yngol and Ylgar survived and fled back to Atmora. They soon return with his Five Hundred Companions to reclaim Saarthal and get revenge.
-- After The Return, the ruined city was indeed retaken and more battles followed.
-- In the Battle of Moesring, the last battle of the Snow Elves against the Atmoran, the Snow Prince was slain (by a child named Finna in grief over the death of her mother), shattering the elves' hope and military power.
-- The Snow Elves were slaughtered or enslaved. There were still some survivors, since their society almost rivaled the Altmeri and they were numerous.
-- The conflicts led to a lasting distrust between Men and Mer

- (Is this in this Era or in the First Era???) The surviving Snow Elves distrusted the help of Sai, the God of Luck, and instead seek refugee with the Dwemmer in their underground fortress.
-- The Dwarves agreed, at a price. The Snow Elves were forced to eat toxic fungus from Blackreach to survive, that twisted them into blinded and degenerated creatures, known as the Falmer. After becoming Falmer and blind, they were forced into slavery
-- Some Snow Elves didn't accept that price and sought alternatives, without success

- An immortal hero, warrior, sorcerer, and king known as Pelinal Whitestrake, Harrald Hairy Breeks, Ysmir, Wulfharth, Hans the Fox, etc., wanders Tamriel, gathering armies, conquering lands, ruling, then abandoning his kingdoms to wander again.

- The Era ends with the founding of the Camoran Dynasty, founded by King Eplar of Valenwood, that had great success in uniting the Bosmer.

FIRST ERA (2920 years)
- Begins with the founding of the Camoran Dynasty by the Bosmer King Eplear
-- They formed the Green Pact, an oath made by the Bosmer to Y'ffre, the Forest God, in return for his patronage. The pact dictates Bosmer cannot kill, injure, or eat any vegetation. Thus why they never cut wood and eat exclusively meat and fish.
-- The Camoran Dynasty forms, later, a trade pact with the human slave rebels of the Alessian Order. They were then forced to undo this in when one of the Great Hunts killed King Borgas of Skyrim, who was planning on declaring war on the Bosmer.
-- Valenwood was able to maintain its independence for the majority of the First Era

- The Bretons start to exist as a new race
-- Descendants of the Druids of Galen
-- They are half-mer and hald-man. Sometimes referred to as Manmeri.
--- They were created when the Aldmer intermingled extensively with the Nedic people, as a result of Mer helding Men as slaves, which lead to masters impregnating their female captives.
--- Their elven blood is heavily deluted and the appearance looks mostly human, but they still inherit  a strong magical affinity
-- Their province is High Rock.
--- Later, the Breton clan Direnni rises to power there
-- The Direnni Hegemony occurs, during which Skyrim loses significant amounts of land to the Direnni (later, after the formation of the Alessian Order and the weakening of Skyrim)

- The Psijic Order, who develops Mysticism and later births the Mages Guild, is created.
-- Formed by Elder Altmer who rebelled against the "corruption of their society", the trend of young Altmer who did no longer worship the ancestor spirits in general but worshiped some specific Gods
-- They settle in Artaeum, away from said corruption
-- The first record tells of the renowned Breton sage and author The Voernet, traveling to the Isle of Artaeum to meet with Iachesis, the Ritemaster of the Psijics

- King Harald, thirtheen in the line of Ysgramor, was the first King to relinquish all holdings in Atmora, making the Nords a separate people, focused on conquering Tamriel
-- That's what makes all Men in Tamriel descendants of the Nords, except for the Redguards
-- King Harald was born after the last visit from Atmora to Tamriel
-- King Harald orders a campaign against the remaining Snow Elves in the region near Lake Honrich.
-- One of the last remnants of the Dragon Cult is discovered in the secluded monastery of Forelhost by one of King Harald's armies
--- Skorm Snow-Strider finds Forelhost devoid of life, the cultists previously inhabiting the fortress having slit their own wrists or been poisoned. He loses half his men to poisoned water found within the monastery
-- King Harald conquers Skyrim in a period known as Skyrim Conquests

- Dwemer of Skyrim discovered a considerable source of raw Aetherium in Blackreach, in the years following King Harald's death
-- An alliance between four Dwemer cities of Arkngthamz, Raldbthar, Mzulft, and Bthar-zel (now known as Deep Folk Crossing) is created to oversee the extraction, processing, and study of Aetherium.
-- The Dwemer construct the Aetherium Forge under the city of Bthalft.
-- The Aetherium Wars, over control of the Forge, take place between the Dwemer city-states of Skyrim. It lasts for several decades.
-- At some point, King Gellir becomes High King of Skyrim and conquers the weakened Dwemer city states across the land

- The Alessian Slave Rebellion occurs, using the Nord kingdom as an opportunity
-- Slave-Queen Alessia leads the rebellion, thus the name
-- Pelinal Whitestrake is Alessia's champion
-- The Nedes (human slaves) revolted against the Ayleids, in the land of Cyrod/Cyrodiil. It's the first victory of Men over Mer and considered a turning point.
-- The Rebellion succeeded with the fall of the White-Gold Tower and the establishment of the Alessian/Cyrodilic Empire, with Alessia becoming the first Empress
--- The parts of the previous Ayleid Empire that were not included in Cyrodiil, organized under the name of The Colovian Estates
-- Slavery and Daedra worship was outlawed throughout the Empire
-- All Ayleids were forced to adopt the new religion of the Eight Divines, but the prophet Alessia consciously made a synthesis of both Ayleid and Nordic gods to appease both.
--- The Gods chosen are: Akatosh (Dragon God of Time), Arkay (God of Death), Dibella (Goddess of Beauty), Julianos (God of Wisdom), Kynareth (Goddess of the Elements and Sky), Mara (Goddess of Love and Compassion), Stendarr (God of Mercy and Justice), Zenithar (God of Commerce)
--- Later, after the conquests and death of Uriel Septim in the Third Era, he is raised as a human god by the name of Talos (God of Honor and Mankind)
--- The Imperial Pantheon will later add 3 divines: Morihaus (First Breath of Man), Reman (Cyrodiil/Wordly God), Shezarr (God of Man, cyrodiilic version of Lorkhan)

- Death and Apotheosis (ascension to godhood) by Alessia, now Saint Alessia
-- The Alessian Order was created after Alessia's death by a prophet named Marukh, believed to have spoken to Saint Alessia.
--- He questioned the ruling of Mer over Men
--- He believed there was only one God, but knew that he required a more accepted version to gain acceptance of his teachings and completed the notions of Alessia's religious canon, despite focusing on "The One"
-- The Ayleids, although defeated, were not oppressed (and even had minor influence) until the Alessian Order gained control of Cyrodill, through the Alessian Doctrines
--- That destroyed Elven culture and history
--- Instead of resisting, most Ayleids simply leave Cyrodiil and are absorbed into the native Bosmer Elves of Valenwood
-- The Camoran Dynasty forms a trade pact with the Alessian Order
-- While many different factors contributed to the Alessian Order's downfall, the longterm factor which indirectly led to the destruction of the Alessian Order ironically began with its own success. The Alessian faith became so widespread that religious dissension began to appear in the order creating schisms that would eventually cause the War of Righteousness

- The Wild Hunt, a ritual from the Green Pact that allows Bosmer to transform into creatures that incorporate beasts and nature elements, occurs. They kill King Borgas of Winterhold
-- Borgas was High King of Skyrim and the last of the Ysgramor Dynasty.
-- He also outlawed the Nordic pantheon of deities and supported Marukh instead. When he urged the Alessians to launch a war on Valenwood, the Bosmer's decided to assassinate him.
-- His death led to the War of Succession. The loss of a united leadership weakened the Nordic/Skyrim Empire.
-- The end of the First Empire of the Nords led to the Direnni Hegemony taking advantage of it to conquest the North. The Nords will also lose their territory in Morrowind during the first Battle of the Red Mountain.
-- The Pact of Chieftans ends the war, by crowning Olaf One-Eye as High King, after he defeated the dragon Numinex with the aid of the Thu'um

- Frandar Hunding, a Redguard Hero, wins over ninety battles; having killed his opponents in each, he is deemed "virtually invincible with a sword."
-- Divad The Singer, Son of Frandar Hunding, enters the "Hall of the Virtues of War" and begins his training there. He leaves the "Hall of the Virtues of War" in anger, breaks his swords, and vows to "become an acrobat in a travelling circus."
-- Frandar Hunding, retired and living as a hermit in Mount Hattu, writes his book, the Book of Circles, a book for Sword-Singers to emulate his fighting style
-- The Kingdom of Wayrest, in High Rock, is founded
-- The Hiradirge, a rebel Ansei group, destroy Yokuda (not in Tamriel!), the Redguard homeland
-- Redguards arrive from their homeland Yokuda to the Iliac Bay and Daggerfall area
-- Ra Gada (Warrior Wave) from Yokuda arrive in Volenfell, later to be known as Hammerfell.
--- Thulgeg's army of Orcs and Goblins is forced to flee northeast after being stopped at Bangkorai Pass.
--- Peregrine Direnni repels the Redguard invasion of Balfiera.
-- The Siege of Orsinium occurs, because the Orcs had become a threat to the neighboring kingdoms, Bretons and Redguards, who formed an alliance to focus on the common foe
-- The city of Evermore, a major trade city of High Rock, is founded and allowed the advancements of the Breton

- The Imperial Empress Hestra attempts to expand the Empire into The Reach (borders between Skyrim, Hammerfell and High Rock)
-- The Reachmen or Witchmen of High Rock defend their area
--- They are technically Breton but neither group considers the other kin, and they resulted from the massacre of the Nords from part of the Elves during the Wars of Succession.
-- Red Eagle was a Reachman hero who, despite being forsaken by the ruling elders of his people, defends the Reach from the Alessian Empire until Hestra mobilized a huge force

- The Akaviri Invasions are a series of attempted full-scale invasions of Tamriel by various peoples from the continent of Akavir, in the Padomaic Ocean.
-- The exact date is undetermined. It lasted years, anyway, and was composed of two main invasions, only one in this Era
-- The first Akaviri invasion was carried by the Tsaesci, a vampiric serpent folk, but they invaded Tamriel when the Cyrodilic "Empire" was still small. The Akaviri conquered most of the northern regions of Tamriel
-- The circumstances forced the Colovian Empire, under King Reman I leadership, to officially join Cyrodiil
-- Morrowind and the Kingdom of Daggerfall (just founded in Iliac Bay), also threatened, joined the coalition as well
-- Daggerfall, one of the eight major kingdoms in the province of High Rock, defeats the Akaviri Invasion in the Battle of the Pale Pass. The main heroes of the battle were Reman and Vivec, one of the God-Kings of Morrowind
-- The Akaviri even proclaimed Reman as the Dragonborn, the chosen one after whom they had sought
--- That proclamation, and after being impressed with their prowess in battle, Reman granted amnesty to the remaining Tsaesci, who interbred with the Imperials

- The rise of the Cyrodilic/Reman Empire occurs, started with the Alessian/First and the Akaviri Invasions
-- The name is because it was centered in Cyrodill and lead by the Reman Dynasty, that claimed lineage to Saint Alessia herself
-- Unofficially formed after it defeated the Akaviri Invasions and incorporated High Rock and Skyrim under a united Cyrodiil.
-- The Alessian Empire is reorganized into the Reman Empire under the Reman Dynasty
-- The Camoran Dynasty was brought into the Reman Empire and as such lost independence, forced by the warfare from Cyrodiil and Colovia and also the effects of the Thrassian Plague
--- Reman ensured that Valenwood would not be a threat by raising several of its cities from trading posts to full-fledged powers
-- As a result, cultural, political and military dominance shifts from Mer to Men
-- Reman committed the construction of Alduin's Wall, within the Sky Haven Temple, to record all the dragonlore the Blades (Akaviri Dragonguard and Imperial Intelligence Service later, sworn to serve the Dragonborn) had accumulated over their existence, to help with the inevitable return of Alduin in the future

- The First Council is established, an alliance to protect Resdayn (later called Morrowind) against the Nordic Invasion
-- That alliance was formed between Indoril Nerevar, leader of the Chimer, and Dumac Dwarfking, leader of the Dwemmer, who were friends
-- Prior to this agreement, there was frequent conflict between the two races: the Daedra-loving Chimer and the agnostic Dwemer
-- Nerevar advisors were called the Tribunal, and they were Vivec (Benevolent warrior-poet, but shares with Mephala the secretive murder) Almalexia (Brave and compassionate queen, she's Boethiah's anticipation, yet later loses her sanity) and Sotha Sil (Powerful wizard, his anticipation is Azura)

- A Dragon Break (or un-time) occurs. It is a temporal phenomenon that involves a splitting of the natural timeline
-- Results in branching parallel realities where the same events occur differently, or not at all.
-- This results in a return to the non-linear timeline of the Dawn Era.
-- At the end of a Dragon Break, the timeline reconnects making all possibilities and outcomes truth, though contradictory to each other.
-- The "Dragon" that is mentioned is in reference towards Akatosh, the Dragon God of Time.
-- Dragon Breaks are utterly incomprehensible to all people they affect
--- Save for a select few supernatural individuals such as the Tribunal or the Shezarrines.
--- After being affected by a break, most people are prone to forget the event ever even occurred, dismissing it off as nonsensical, despite intense feelings of spiritual anguish they cannot account for.
--- More recent records note entire days being lost without anyone taking notice.
--- It is known, in some extreme cases, that even the Elder Scrolls were incapable of looking back on the events of the break

- The Heart of Lorkhan was found by the Dwemer sorcerer-architect Kagrenac
-- He planned to use it to construct Numidium, a giant construct and mockery of the Daedra and Chimer's way of life
-- The Chimer House Dagoth found out about that plans
-- Neverar and the Tribunal presented the Dwemmer an ultimatum: stop working on their new god, or face destruction. Dumac, the Dwemer King, was ignorant about Kagrenac plans and refused
--- Ironically, the Dwemer King would have aided Nerevar had he known what his lead scientist Kagrenac was undertaking
-- The Chimer eventually went to war against the Dwemer, called the War of the First Council
-- The War culminated in the Battle of the Red Mountain.
--- The main confrontation is inside the chamber where the Heart of Lorkhan was kept (they don't see the Heart yet). Nerevar, Dagoth and the Tribunal were present, and killed Dumac
--- The entire Dwemmer race disappears due to what happens in the chamber, although no one knows the reason. Some say it was caused by Kagrenac using the Hearth on himself, others that is related to the actions of the Tribunal that happen after the battle

- After the Battle of the Red Mountain, Nerevar and Dagoth Ur (then known as Voryn Dagoth) proceeded into the center of the Dwemer stronghold, where they discovered the Heart of Lorkhan, as well as Kagrenac's Tools: Keening, Sunder, and Wraithguard.
-- Nerevar commanded Dagoth to guard the tools, as he went back to his advisors for instruction on what to do next: They decided to leave the tools alone, and made a vow to Azura.
-- The official account says that Nerevar went to Voryn Dagoth to retrieve the tools, but Dagoth had been driven mad by the power of the Heart of Lorkhan in Nerevar's absence, and refused to relinquish the tools. Nerevar fought with Dagoth Ur, and defeated him, destroying House Dagoth.
-- Nerevar fell soon after the deaths of Dumac and Dagoth.
--- Some theories attribute his death to the wounds he received from Dumac, others to the wounds from Dagoth
--- Ashlanders theories, however, say Nerevar didn't die from the combat but was instead killed by his advisors
-- Unfortunately, Nerevar advisors eventually used the tools to turn themselves into Gods, and even declared themselves superior to the Daedra
--- Some Chimer start worshiping the Tribunal instead of the Daedra, forming the Tribunal Temple
--- Others Chimer, who became known as Ashlanders or Velothi, believed that the Tribunal had betrayed Nerevar and condemned their race and religion (Daedric worship), and refused to abandon their customs for which their race self-exiled. They become nomads who live in tribes and are loyal to the teachings of Prophet Veloth
--- When the tools were used, Azura appeared and cursed the entire Chimer race by "turning their eyes to fire and their skin to ash," making them into the Dunmer

- War of the Crag: The Falmer revolted against their masters Dwemmer during decades. When the conflict reached the surface, however, the Dwemmer had disappeared
- skorm snow-strider organizes campaign against the few surviving snow elves

- The Fourth Imperial Legion and begins his campaign, Blackwater Den, to conquer the inner swamps of Argonia
-- General Bucco takes command of the Fourth Imperial Legion
--- After an attempted mutiny, General Bucco orders a retreat from Argonia. The entire Fourth Legion is lost in the process, with Bucco along with it.
-- The Elder Council reconstitutes the Fourth Legion and puts it under the command of General Regulus Sardecus, beginning the second campaign of the Blackwater War.
--- General Sardecus reacquires all the territory lost in General Bucco's retreat.
--- A widespread forest fire, later known as the "Great Burn" occurs in Black Marsh, forcing General Sardecus to retreat from the region. Sardecus dies in the process.
-- General Lucinia Falco is placed in command of the legion shortly after Sardecus' death.
--- The "Falco Doctrine" is put in full effect, completely revising the Imperial battle-plan in the Blackwater War.
-- The Blackwater War evolves into a guerilla conflict.
-- The Argonians inexplicably stop fighting and return to their homes, bringing an informal end to the Blackwater war.
-- The Second Empire annexation of Argonia is complete, officially creating the province of Black Marsh

- The Four Score War occurs.
-- It started by the Reman Empire invading Morrowind sometime after the Akaviri Invasion
-- The Tsaesci Potentate named Versidue-Shaie, advisor to the Emperor Reman III as part of his attempt to conquer Morrowind, is rumored to be plotting to eliminate the royal family
-- The Battle of Ald Marak was a decisive battle that occurred during the Four Score War
--- The battle was fought between the armies of Morrowind led by Vivec, and the army of the Reman Empire led by Prince Juilek and the Akaviri Potenate, Savirien-Chorak
--- Morrowind's army wasn't aware the enemy forces were under the lake thanks to magic
--- The battle ended up resulting in a crippling defeat for Morrowind, which forced Vivec to make a peace treaty with the Empire.
-- Reman III is assassinated by the Morag Tong (Forest Guild), a guild of assassins with strong connection to the Morrowind government
---The heirs were eliminated and Reman III died without a successor
--- The assassination of the Reman Dynasty marks the end of the Era

SECOND ERA (896 years)
- Political and military stability in Tamriel begins to dissipate

- After the fall of the Reman Dynasty, the Empire was succeeded provisionally by the delegated Tsaesci Potentate
-- That begins the period known as the Akaviri Potentate.
-- The Guilds Act is an Imperial legislation passed by the Potentate Versidue Shaie, which officially sanctioned guilds.
--- Guilds included: Mages Guild, Tinkers Guild, Cobblers Guild, Prostitutes Guild, Scribes Guild, Architects Guild, Brewers Guild, Vintners Guild, Weavers Guild, Ratcatchers Guild, Furriers Guild, Cooks Guild, Astrologers Guild, Healers Guild, Tailors Guild, Minstrals Guild, Barristers Guild, and the Syffim (later known as the Fighters Guild).
--- The Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood (later found by the Night Mother), due to their illicit nature, were obviously not part of the Guilds Act
-- The Potentate, after ruling for 300 years, was assassinated by the Morag Tong
-- The Second Empire would fall after the assassination of Potentate Savirien Chorak, the successor of the previous Tsaesci Potentate, that ruled for 100 years before being assassinated and the Elder Council put an Imperial back on the Throne
- That begins the Interregnum period, between the end of the Second Empire (Reman Dynasty) and the formation of the Third Empire (Septim Dynasty)

- The Morag Tong (who worshiped the Daedric Prince Mephala) had become so drunk with murder that they literally wrote the words "Morag Tong" in blood on the walls.
-- Morag Tong is outlawed throughout Tamriel.
-- Shortly after the eradication of the Morag Tong in Cyrodiil, a Dunmer woman serving the faction, who later became the Night Mother, hears the voice of Sithis.
--- Sithis then later visited the Night Mother and begat to her five children.
--- The Night Mother kills her young children, and send their souls to the Void, back to their father Sithis.
--- She is later murdered by the people of the village for her horrid act
-- A man hears the voice of the Night Mother, and becomes the first Listener
-- Thus, the Dark Brotherhood, a new guild of assassins, sprung from the Morag Tong

- The Interregnum indirectly paved the way for the Planemeld, the invasion by Molag Bal from Oblivion
-- After legalizing Daedra worship, Varen Aquilarios sparked a rebellion against Emperor Leovic, last of the dynasty of Reachmen.
-- After a long and bloody war, Varen kills Leovic in his throne room and declares himself Emperor.
-- Varen Aquilarios seeks to legitimize his claim to the Ruby Throne and forms the Five Companions to find the long-lost Amulet of Kings in the hopes that Varen could make himself Dragonborn.
--- The Five Companions consisted of Lyris Titanborn, Mannimarco, Sai Sahan, Varen Aquilarios, and Abnur Tharn.
-- After two years of searching, the Five Companions finally recover the Amulet of Kings from Sancre Tor
--- Mannimarco, one of the Five Companions and a necromancer, betrays Varen Aquilarios during his attempt to use the Amulet of Kings to become Dragonborn, corrupting the ritual and breaking the covenant with Akatosh that sealed Nirn from Oblivion.
-- The Soulburst, a massive explosion of arcane energy, erupted in the Imperial City, causing Varen to vanish.
--- Mystical aftershocks swept across Nirn, causing mages to die or go mad. The Daedra appeared in greater numbers than ever before
-- With the barrier destroyed, Molag Bal begins the Planemeld and deploys Dark Anchors into Tamriel to merge Nirn and Coldharbour together into a hellscape
-- Following the Planemeld, the bridges to the Imperial City were cut off, blocking Imperial forces from entering the city and fighting the Daedra.
-- Inside the city, the Legion that was garrisoned there, Legion Zero, swore oaths to Molag Bal and became mind shriven, helping his minions conquer the city

- For unknown reasons, a new Akaviri Invasion reaches Tamriel.
-- The Akaviri bypass the Telvanni Isles, Vvardenfell, and Solstheim before finally reaching their objective: the city of Windhelm.
-- There they sat for nearly a month before the assault.
-- The invasion itself came as a complete surprise, with Windhelm falling only after five days of siege.
-- The King Jorunn escaped alive, and there are many theories as to how.

- Other conflicts or events:
-- The City of Vivec was build and blessed by the other gods of the Tribunal, Almalexia and Sotha Sil
-- The Chim-el Adabal, or Amulet of Kings, was lost amid the "petty wars of gone-heathen kings."
-- In Cyrodiil, the East and the West fought one another.
-- In Hammerfell during this period, the "High King," leader of the Crowns, moved the capital city from Hegathe to the more prosperous city of Sentinel.
-- Elsweyr, the Khajiit kingdom, is created after Keirgo of Anequina and Eshita of Pellitine combined their long-feuding kingdoms, and created a class struggle that briefly threatened to draw in outside intervention
-- King Maxevian forms the Pale Watch, and tasks them with guarding Watcher's Hold for an intended five years, in order to make sure the Orcs do not return to Wrothgar.
-- The Reachmen, led by Durcorach the Black Drake, first of the Longhouse Emperors, are defeated by the Breton kingdoms after their failed invasion of High Rock, and are slain
-- Order of the Black Worm (Organization of Necromancers) in Kvatch is defeated by the Order of the Hour (Militant arm of the Akatosh Chantry).

- The Interregnum culminates in the Alliance War or Three Banners War. Most of the previous incidents and the absence of legitimate rulers for the Cyrodillic Empire contributed to the formation of several multi-provincial alliances
-- The alliances/Three Banners are:
--- Aldmeri Dominion (Aldmer, Bosmer and Khajit), unites to take control of the Imperial City to restore the Elven rule and defeat the Molag Bal worshippers that took the Empire. Governed by the Thalmor
--- Ebonheart Pact (Dunmer, Argonians and Nords), this unstable alliance desires to defeat the Empire and preserve the independence of their homes. Established after the races were forced to work together to defend from the Second Akaviri Invasion (the one of this Era)
--- Daggerfall Covenant (Redguards, Bosmer and Orcs), established to end poverty and suffering throughout the kingdoms of High Rock and Hammerfell caused by dwindling trade routes, in turn caused by the wars happening
-- The alliances fought amongst themselves and against Molag Bal's forces.
-- That occurs after the First Aldmeri Dominion was formed after the Queen Ayrenn returned to the Summerset Isles

- The Vestige (also known as the Soulless One, Meridia's Champion, the Hero of Coldharbour, and the Savior of Tamriel) helps:
-- They end the Planemeld
--- They cause harm to the Daedric and Legion Zero forces
--- Molag Bal's Dark Anchor in the Imperial City is destroyed by the Vestige and Sister Terran Arminus (and Xivkyn Molag Kena masquerading as Empress Clivia Tharn, is defeated)
--- The Sublime Brazier, a contraption that powers the Dragonfires, is saved by the Vestige and the Drake of Blades from Molag Bal's plan to destroy it.
--- The Mortuum Vivicus, a powerful artifact used by followers of Molag Bal, is successfully destroyed by the Fighters Guild
--- Molag Bal's grip on the Imperial City is successfully ended by the Vestige, saving it from the Planemeld
-- Eyevea, an island haven of the Summerset Isles owned by Arch-Mage Shalidor during the First Era, is returned by Sheogorath to Tamriel, thanks to the Vestige and Valaste of the Mages Guild.
-- King Kurog of the Second Orsinium and the Vestige kill Urfon Ice-Heart, ending the Winterborn threat against Wrothgar.
--- Invitations to a Moot held by King Kurog are accepted by Orsimer clan chiefs, Chief Bazrag is saved from the Vosh Rakh, and the Vosh Rakh's infiltration of the Second Orsinium is unveiled.
--- King Kurog is killed after his betrayal is revealed, with his plot to kill the clan chiefs foiled, and Bazrag gro-Fharun is crowned the new king of the Second Orsinium

- The Daedric War is carried out by the Court of Bedlam (Daedric Princes Nocturnal, Mephala and Clavicus Vile) in Vvanderfell, Clockwork City and Summerset Isles against Vivec, Sotha Sil and the Phijic Order to reshape Tamriel in their image
-- Sotha Sil manages to stop Nocturnal and convince Mephala and Clavicus Vile to cease interfering in Nirn, at least directly
-- Baar Dau, also known as Lie Rock or Ministry of Truth, was a large moonlet/comet that hovered Vivec City and would destroy it with the impact
--- It was held in place in the air by the divine energy of Vivec
--- Much later, when Vivec disappears during the Third Era, it will be held in place by a machine called Ingenium
--- Theories say the rock was propelled by the Daedric Prince Sheogarath because h was bored and also wanted revenge on the Tribunal

- The Battle of Sancre Tor, where General Talos retakes the mountain fortress of Sancre Tor from the Bretons, takes place
-- Talos gains the service of the Nords (he was the General of Emperor Cuhlecain/Zero) in his conquest of Cyrodiil
-- Breton assassins decide to counterattack and slit Talos throat, but he survived "one hand to his neck and Cuhlecain's Crown in the other"
- Talos changes his name to Tiber Septim and sets out to conquer Tamriel
- Tiber Septim crusaded the provinces of Tamriel to unite them under the Septim Empire, founding the Septim Dynasty

- Dagoth Ur (revived) and his kin, the Ash Vampires, awaken.
-- The Tribunal are prevented from reaching the Heart Chamber, and their powers begin to weaken.

- Barenziah, a Dunmer woman, is born to the Lord and Lady of Mournhold
-- Skilled in thievery and spellcasting
-- She grew up in Skyrim, banished from Morrowind when Tiber Septim conquered it
-- Captured by Symmachus, a general in the Imperial Legion, she spent some time as part of the Emperor's household as Queen of Morrowind
-- Married to Symmachus in Morrowind, she later (in the next Era) has an affair with the bard Nightingale, who used her to obtain the Staff of Chaos

- During the years following the Second Empire collapse, several pretender states claimed succession to the Reman Empire, though none would last until the coronation of Tiber Septim as the true heir to the Reman line, that marks the end of the Era

THIRD ERA (433 years)
- Begins with the founding of the Septim Dynasty and Empire
-- Tiber Septim dies of old age -> Pelagius Septim becomes Emperor -> Pelagius is assassinated -> Empress Kintyra Septim is crowned -> Kintyra dies -> Uriel Septim I is crowned -> ... -> Uriel Septim III becomes Emperor
-- Populist revolts against the Imperial authority, especially in Morrowind and partly Black Marsh in the latter stage
-- Emperor Uriel Septim almost succeeds in stabilizing Tamriel, including retaking lands recently lost to revolt
-- The Emperor launches a military initiative to conquer the small island kingdoms in the Padomaic Ocean to the east of Morrowind, like Black Harbor, to serve as a base for the Imperial navy

- The War of the Red Diamond begins, because Uriel III declared that the Emperor Kintayra II was a bastard and attacked the Empire
-- The name is after the Red Diamond of Tiber Septim that represents the Dynasty, that probably belonged to Saint Alessia
-- Participants:
--- On Uriel III's side, there was his mother, Potema, and the forces of High Rock, northern Morrowind, Skyrim, and various kings from the other provinces.
--- On the opposing side, there was Empress Kintayra II, her Uncles Cephorus and Magnus, and the majority of the kings from Hammerfell, Summerset Isles, Valenwood, Elsweyr, and the Black Marsh.
-- Cephorus Septim executes Kintayra
--- Broken Diamonds suggests that Kintayra II was in reality murdered
--- Cephorus Septim reconquers the western half of the High Rock region.
-- The Battle of Ichidag takes place
--- Uriel Septim III and his forces fight against Cephorus Septim in Hammerfell.
--- During this battle, Uriel Septim III is captured by Cephorus.
--- En route to his trial in the Imperial City, Uriel Septim III is burned alive inside his prisoner's carriage by an angry mob. Cephorus Septim is proclaimed Emperor.
-- Battle of Falconstar
--- Queen Potema fights against Magnus Septim after hearing that her son was captured
--- She forces Magnus army to retreat
-- Siege of Solitude
--- After numerous defeats (over 10 years), Potema's forces were pushed back to the Blue Palace in Solitude, Skyrim
--- She started signing pacts with Daedra and necromancers to resurrect her fallen forces, to reinforce her army
--- During the siege, Potema gave Pelagius Septim a necklace that would slowly drive him to insanity. Potema at this point knew from the Elder Scrolls that Pelagius would become Emperor and she so instigated one final act of revenge on the Empire
--- She was still defeated by Magnus, who took the castle
--- The War of the Red Diamond ends, and Cephorus Septim  becomes Emperor
-- In return for their pledges of allegiance to the Empire, the nobility of Skyrim, High Rock, Hammerfell, the Summerset Isle, Valenwood, Black Marsh, and Morrowind demanded and received a new level of autonomy and independence from the Empire.

- During the reign of Uriel Septim IV, in an attempt to clean up the issues surrounding property rights in Skyrim, decreed that "any man without a Liege who occupied a castle for more than three months would be granted the rights and titles of that estate.
-- The reason for this was to discourage absent and foreign landlords.
-- Cephorus Septim II is declared Emperor of Tamriel by the Elder Council, denying the dying wish of Uriel IV, who wished that his son, Andorak Septim, be crowned

- Uriel Septim V launches an invasion on Akavir, intending to conquer it
--  It was initially successful, but due to the lack of Tsaesci resistance.
-- When the Taesci decide to put up a fight, the entire invasion force was lost
--- The Emperor himself is killed in the Battle of Ionith

- Uriel Septim VI gains dominance over the Elder Council and Thonica, having used his powers to re-establish the defunct spy network and his personal guard units to bully members of the Council. He dies from falling from his horse.

- Imperial Simulacrum: when Jagar Tharn took the Imperial crown from Uriel Septim VII, happens.
-- He tricks Queen Barenziah of Mournhold to obtain the Staff of Chaos
-- Later, he becomes the Imperial Battlemage of Uriel Septim VII
-- Captures Uriel VII and banishes him into Oblivion with the Staff
-- Normally when the Emperor of Tamriel dies, the Elder Council is magically informed by the Amulet of Kings and meets to select a successor. By sequestering Uriel Septim VII in another dimension, where time ran slower, Tharn prevented this from happening.
-- He then broke the staff into eight pieces and hid them in the other provinces of Tamriel.
-- Using his powerful, and skillful knack for Illusion, he took on the visage of Uriel VII, and ruled the Empire, replacing the Emperor's guard and servants with Daedra.
-- Several years later, he made a bargain with Mehrunes Dagon to invade Battlespire, the Imperial training facility and bastion of the Imperial Battlemages.
--- This move was essential to secure his position and to eliminate a possible threat to his reign.
--- Mehrunes Dagon was destroyed and cast back into Oblivion by a mysterious hero, but the Battlespire is destroyed.
-- The hero, with the help of Ria Silmane and Lady Barenziah, managed to gather the hidden pieces of the Staff of Chaos, slain Tharn, rescue Uriel Septim VII, and was declared the Eternal Champion

- The Five Year War, a conflict between Elsweyr and Valenwood, occurs
-- Increasing raids on wood caravans bound for Valenwood led to the Slaughter of Torval, which officially started the war.
-- Elsweyr was the clear victor of the war.
-- The events of the book collection A Dance in Fire take place: Decumus Scotti, a former employee of the Atrius Building Commission. In the series, he travels throughout Valenwood, seeking to strike a lucrative deal with a local Bosmeri leader to repair damage inflicted during the Five Year War

- Orsinium passes ownership to the Orcish people, following a Judges ruling that a contest shall take place, between Lord Bowyn, a Breton, and Gortwog gro-Nagorm, an Orsimer.
-- Orsinium applies for Provincial status, and makes peace with its long-time enemy, Wayrest

- Daggerfall had grown in population significantly. The Betony War was fought between the Iliac Bay kingdoms of Daggerfall and Sentinel. The war ended when Daggerfall won a decisive victory during the Battle of Cryngaine Field.

- The Warp in the West, a Dragon Break on the Iliac Bay region, occurs
-- During this time, the Dark Brotherhood was active across Tamriel. Their existence was accepted and widely ignored. The Dark Brotherhood still worshiped the Daedric Prince Mephala as their leader, not Sithis. This was probably caused by the then-recent split from the Morag Tong.

- Dagoth Ur rises
-- Kogoruhn is occupied by House Dagoth (Sixth House) forces led by Dagoth Uthol
-- Sixth House bases founded near Gnaar Mok and in Waterfront areas of Vivec City
-- Sixth House bases found in every major city in Vvardenfell

-- Sixth House assassins begin assassinating prominent Imperial citizens and House Hlaalu sympathizers

- The Nerevarine (protector of Nerevar-place and Nerevar reincarnation) is chosen and the Prophecy of Nerevarine is revealed to be true
-- The Nerevarine reclaims the Moon-and-Star from Azura and is proven to be the true Incarnate of Nerevar.
-- The Nerevarine becomes the Hortator and unites all three Great Houses to oppose Dagoth Ur.
-- When the Nerevarine intervened on Azura's behalf, Dagoth Ur was defeated at Red Mountain, leaving the gods mortal
-- Trueflame, a Dwemmer longblade, is rebuilt and reclaimed by the Nerevarine.
-- Almalexia betrays and kills Sotha Sil, and she is later killed by the Nerevarine, leaving Vivec who in turn will disappear during the Oblivion Crisis.
--- After the disappearance of Vivec, no one could help prevent the comet Ministry of Truth from falling. The Ingenium was a machine created by the mage Vuhon and Ezhmaar Sul to prevent that. To create it, they made a deal with the Daedric Prince Clavicus Vile who required 10 mortal souls per day to keep it working.
-- The Tribunal Temple falls and is reorganized
--- The Tribunal was replaced by the New Temple, who restored worship to the original pantheon of Azura, Boethiah, and Mephala
--- The Ashlanders are credited with being in the right side all along

- Establishment of Raven Rock on the island of Solstheim, after the Nerevarine is named a Blodskaal on Solstheim and defeats the Daedric Prince Hircine, stopping the Bloodmoon Prophecy from being fulfilled

- The events known as the Oblivion Crisis occur
-- The Mythic Dawn assassinates Uriel Septim VII
-- That further weakens the Third Empire, and there's only one heir left, Martin Septim
-- That allows for the subsequent and intended invasion by Mehrunnes Dagon
-- A new hero stands up and greatly aids the Septim dynasty and the Empire. They become known as the Hero of Kvath and Savior of Bruma
-- Martin Septim sacrifices himself in the Imperial City to banish Mehrunes Dagon from Nirn and save the people of the Empire.
--- His death implies the end of the Septim Dynasty and also destroys the Amulet of Kings
--- Martin Septim's death ends the Third Era and begins the Fourth.

- Smaller events during the Oblivion Crisis
-- Attack on the Mages Guild occurs. The necromancer Mannimarco wages war on the Mages Guild, almost succeeding before being killed by the new Arch-Mage.
-- An Elder Scroll is successfully stolen from White-Gold Tower by a member of the Thieves Guild.
-- The Auroran Crisis, a conflict between the Knights of the Nine and the Auroran forces of Umaril
--- Umaril the Unfeathered is one of the last Ayleid kings to have survived the war with Saint Alessia
--- When released from the Waters of Oblivion, he seeks vengeance and sends his Auroran servants, Daedric warriors of Meridia, against the Church of the Nine Divines in Cyrodill
--- The Hero of Kvatch becomes the 2nd Divine Crusader and defeats Umaril both in the mortal and spiritual planes.
-- The final Greymarch in the Shivering Isles
--- Occurring at the end of every Era in the Shivering Isles, it is intended to destroy the isles, Sheogorath's realm.
-- Since Sheogarath is the Daedric Prince of Madness, his realm can be destroyed by order, held by Jyggalag's forces and the Knights of Order
--- The Hero of Kvatch is crowned as the new Sheogorath and defeats Jyggalag.

- The end of the Oblivion Crisis simultaneously with the Septim Dynasty marks the end of the Era

FORTH ERA
- Sinderion discovers the properties of Nirnroot, sharing them with the Alchemy community. He later goes to Blackreach to investigate the Red Nirnroot and is never seen again

- The Argonian invasion of southern Morrowind begins

- The Stormcrown Interregnum occurs after the murder of Potentate Ocato, possibly by the Thalmor
-- The Elder Council fractured, thus leading into 7 years of ruthless fighting, scandalous plots, and betrayal.
-- It leads many to claim the Ruby Throne, and few claims were legitimate, being mostly power-hungry
--- One of these pretenders was Thules the Gibbering, who was not very liked by his people during his short reign.
-- The Stormcrown Interregnum was finally ended when a Colovian warlord by the name of Titus Mede seized the crown and deposed Thules the Gibbering.
--- It begins the Mede Dynasty, that takes over the Septim Empire

- A great warrior from Windhelm, Vundheim, dies. His son, Deroct, lights a candle above the hearth in his home in his honor, that is forever lit. The building later becomes known as Candlehearth Hall

- Third Aldmerian Dominion (basically elven supremacists) is formed, as the Thalmor come into power in the Summerset Isle, renamed to Alinor
-- The government of Valenwood is overthrown by the Thalmor sympathizers. The Bosmeri, allied with the Empire, were unprepared. Valenwood becomes a Thalmor territory.
-- The Third Aldmeri Dominion severs all ties with the Empire

-- The Dominion ceases their 70 year-long period of isolation from the Empire

- The Void Nights, a two-year period during which the two moons of Nirn, (Masser and Secunda), disappeared, occurs
-- Given the religious significance of the moons to the Khajiit in Elsweyr, there was large panic and unrest among them.

- The Great Collapse of Winterhold occurs.
-- It is a geological event that devastated Winterhold, collapsing the majority of the city into the Sea of Ghosts.
-- The Jarl longhouse and the College of Winterhold escaped mostly unharmed, which make the inhabitants blame the mages of the College (which they deny) or at least prevent it
-- The most probable theory is that it was a far-reaching consequence of the eruption of the Red Mountain, despite having happened 117 years ago

- The Dominion pressures the leaderless Septim Empire
-- Titus Mede II is crowned Emperor
-- The Dominion presents the Empire with an ultimatum: to ban the worship of Talos and serve them, or go to War. The Empire refuses.
--- The Dominion gives the Empire a gift: the heads of many of the Blades. Some say the war started right at that moment
-- Aldmeri forces led by Lord Naarifin invade Hammerfell and Cyrodiil. The city of Leyawiin falls, and the city of Bravil is besieged.
-- A 2nd Aldmeri force, led by Lady Arannelya, cross western Cyrodiil and invade Hammerfell.
--- The Redguards in Hammerfell, divided by civil war and disorganized, put up little resistance. The southern coastline falls to the Aldmeri forces as the Imperial Legions in Hammerfell retreat North into the Alik'r Desert.
--- The March of Thirst, a retreat of Redguards through the desert, occurs.
--- Hammerfell: The entire southern coastline falls to the Aldmeri forces with the exception of Helgathe
--- Hammerfell: The siege of Hegathe is broken. Imperial forces make a stand in Skaven to fight off the advancing Aldmeri soldiers. Skaven falls to the Aldmeri. However, the victorious Aldmeri force is severely weakened by the advance through the desert, and is unable to continue their campaign.
--- The Second Treaty of Stros M'kai is later signed as a follow-up of the White-Gold Concordat. It is a treaty between Hammerfell and the Third Aldmeri Dominion signifying the end of conflict between the two, that forced the Aldmeri Dominion to withdraw from Hammerfell
-- Aldmeri forces advance into Cyrodiil to capture the Imperial City, Cyrodiil:
--- The cities of Bravil and Anvil in Cyrodiil both fall to Aldmeri forces.
--- Naval battles ensues in Lake Rumare surrounding Imperial City and along the Niben River leading to the Rumare.
--- Cyrodiil: Aldmeri forces cross the Niben and advance towards the Imperial City through the eastern bank, surrounding the city from the east, south, and west
--- Cyrodiil: The Thalmor leadership decides to focus their forces in the Cyrodiil campaign. The Imperial City falls to the Aldmeri forces
--- The Battle of the Red Ring takes place as the Empire embarks on a campaign to retake Imperial City, which fell to the Aldmeri Dominion the previous year. The battle was an Imperial victory, but not without heavy losses.
--- Exhausted from war, the Empire negotiates a peace treaty and signs the White-Gold Concordat with the Aldmeri Dominion, thus ending the war. The terms of the agreement is the initial proposition. Thus, the Great War ends
-- The Reach and Markarth falls to the Reachmen in The Forsworn Uprising and is ruled as an independent kingdom
--- Ulfric Stormcloak and his militia retake The Reach and Markarth from the Reachmen.
--- The surviving Reachmen flee to the hills of the Reach and became known as the Forsworn, a clan commonly known to hold a bitter hatred for Nords.

- Results of the White-Gold Concordat
-- The terms of the agreements are the surrender of the remaining territory still occupied by Aldmeri Force, and the banning of the worship of Talos.
-- By ceding portions of Hammerfell to the Aldmeri Dominion, the relationship between the Imperials of Cyrodiil and the Redguard of Hammerfell deteriorates.
--- The Redguards, feeling betrayed by the Empire, decide to openly defy the treaty, declaring that they have absolutely no intention of surrendering any territory in Hammerfell to the Dominion, and will continue their war efforts alone if need be.
--- To avoid getting dragged back into the war once more, the Empire is forced to renounce Hammerfell as an Imperial province.
-- Markarth Incident occurs:
--- Shortly after retaking Markarth, the Imperial Legion returned to Skyrim in the aftermath of the Great War, but was pressured by Ulfric's militia to permit the free Talos worship in Markarth that was agreed upon by Ulfric and Markarth's Jarl.
--- The Legion capitulated to Ulfric's demand but soon broke the agreement due to pressure from the Aldmeri Dominion.
--- Thus, Ulfric and his militia were arrested and incarcerated.
--- During Ulfric's imprisonment, his father, the Jarl of Windhelm, died, and Ulfric was forced to deliver the eulogy by a letter he had smuggled out of prison.
--- Upon his release, he returned to Windhelm, took up duties as Jarl, and began his rebellion: The Stormcloak Rebellion
--- The Stormcloaks are founded to oppose the Imperials, who they believe to be corrupted and weak, and protect the worship of Talos
--- Skyrim Civil War breaks out, initiated by Ulfric challenging the High King (of Skyrim) Torygg to a duel, that he accepted. Torygg was killed in combat (with the help of Shouts), like Ulfric expected, being able to assert his message that those who served the Empire were weak. Despite being in duel, some people accuse Ulfric of assassination.
--- General Tullius from the Empire is sent to Skyrim to end the Civil War
